These associations and organizations offer information or services pertinent to nonpublic elementary or secondary education. Accrediting Associations conduct formal evaluations of schools interested in gaining accreditation; in some cases, accredited institutions are eligible for membership benefits. Advocacy Organizations provide assistance and active support for members of a specified population. Professional Organizations offer membership and benefits to specified professionals. School Membership Associations provide benefits for member schools, but do not have a formal accreditation process. Testing Organizations compose and, in many cases, oversee and administer examinations given for the purpose of school admission or placement.
